Today I drove Kris up to OHSU in Portland for an eye exam. The view from the 11th floor is spectacular. You can see three bridges spanning the Willamette river with Mt. St. Helens looming in the background. I sat near the window in the lobby to do this sketch.
Here’s a photo I took with my iPod Touch after I completed the sketch.
The bridge in the foreground is the Ross Island bridge. In the middle is the Tilikum Crossing which is still under construction. I could also see a bit of the Marquim bridge over on the left.
I first sketched the scene in water-soluble pencil and then added a bit of watercolor using a Pentel medium round waterbrush.
